Not Me Monday – A No-Do List

Happy Monday Morning!

Today’s edition of Not Me Monday is all about creating a No-Do List.  What is a No Do List – – well, you’ll have to read to find out more.

I love this author’s idea of creating a list of things to not do.  I think from a time management perspective…this is just as important as creating your To-Do List.

I love her first two items on her No-Do List.

1. Don’t watch reruns

2. Don’t waste time online.

But like she mentions in the first part of the blog….this list is personal.  And I like that she says it is not a negative thing…in fact – it is really quite the opposite.

This could be a fun exercise – – what would you put on your No-Do List?  Take a look at your biggest time wasters…can you “not do them” this week?  How about just one… what would that be?  Share it in the comments section – – we can get some inspiration from each other.

Hope your day is a great one!

My new video explains it all!

Hi Everyone,

I invite you to take a look at this new video I just created.  I am still working on the ins and outs of video making, but the offer and information in this video is too good to wait.  So bare with the lighting and turn up the volume.  Then – give me a call – and let’s work together.

Too many emails in my inbox

It seems that over the last few weeks I have been working on projects that have taken my attention away from daily email correspondence and I have only answered things that needed my immediate attention.  But on today’s list of things to accomplish, I vowed that I wasn’t going to work on anything until I tackled those non-immediate attention needing items in my inbox.

I have been planning to write a series about how best to deal with emails and how to manage your inbox anyway.  So why not next week?  You won’t want to miss my tips on becoming the boss of your inbox.

In the meantime, please answer me a question.

Please feel free to add any comments!  Would love to hear what you are thinking.

Happy First Day of February!

Create New Routines in 2011

Good Morning Everyone,

I recently had a very compelling conversation with a good friend of mine named Beth.  (She agreed to let me share her story on my blog.)  She told me that she was having a hard time getting going now that the Holiday Season is over and the New Year was upon us.  She feels that around this time of each year, she puts a lot of stress and emphasis on starting over and fresh; in actuality, nothing has changed in her life except the numbers in the year.  She still struggles with balancing work, motherhood, finances, personal time.  We talked about why is it that just because the year’s numbers roll over, things are magically supposed to fall into place?

I got to thinking, I wonder how many other people feel the same way that Beth feels?   What’s the old saying “I hear tell the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”  Have your good intentions, a.k.a. resolutions, fallen by the wayside already and here it is, only the 10th.

Maybe the best way to get going this year is to get help.  Sometimes, this help is in the form of a professional.  Make this year’s resolutions a success by approaching them differently and hire that professional that can help you achieve your goals.  Professional help comes in all forms these days; personal trainers, cleaning services, childcare, grocery delivery, financial help…the list goes on and on.  OH – don’t forget, if you are feeling that your routine can use some tweaking or a major adjustment, I can help with that.

I am pretty sure I convinced Beth to get help in a couple of areas that she can surely use it.   And I hope to follow her and her progress.

And who doesn’t love a little Randy Travis on a Monday morning?

Hope your Monday is off to a great start!

Getting Motivated to Get Things Done – Part 5

Just do it.

Well – – you knew it was coming.  Sometimes we just need to suck it up and get ‘er done.  As much as we hate to do it, as boring, gross, hard, exhausting, and just plain yucky – there are some tasks that we just need to hunker down and do.  I loathe the grocery store experience.  Clipping coupons, walking the isles, checking out, loading and then unloading the car, then putting everything away after I get home – YUCK with a capital YUCK!   But…we eat and many times I put off the grocery store too long and we end of practically running out of food.  Then I end up making one giant trip which ends up being excruciatingly long and way too time consuming.

And I know this is the case with my DVD project.  One day soon I am going to just sit down and do it.  I might need to get some help so I can learn how to work the program and then I will start scheduling some times on my calendar and just get it done!

Thanks for reading this week.  Hope you found this series helpful.

Have a great weekend.
