To Organize…

A number of  years ago, I called my mom to ask her for a recipe for her famous Sausage and Bean Soup.  She didn’t give it to me right then – we decided that I could get it the next time we talked.   We continued on our conversation for about ten more minutes and then it was time to go.

About a minute and a half after we hung up – – my phone rang again.

…it was my mom.

…with the recipe.

My mom is a really good cook.  I even dedicated my eBook to her.  She made a home-cooked meal almost every night that we were growing up.

She also has quite the recipe collection.

Yet, it was no surprise when she called back so quickly and had the recipe ready for me to transcribe.  You see, my mom is also quite organized.  I’ll spare you how we had to maintain our sock drawers while we were growing up.

My question to you is – how long would it take you to find a recipe?  Or the manual to the garage door opener?  Or your tax paperwork from 2003?  Or your sunglasses?

This month our Word of the Month is – Organize.  So let’s do just that.

I challenge you to pick three things that you have been wanting to and meaning to get organized over the last weeks, months, years – – and get them done!  It is still the very beginning of the month and you have plenty of time to accomplish this!

Why three?

Well – five seemed like too much and three was the last number of the year (13).

But in reality, if you haven’t done whatever it is you are planning on tackling with this month’s challenge – it is most likely because

a. you either don’t want to do it or

b. it is too big to do in one day.

Three seems like an achievable number of projects to complete in the month.

I would encourage you to find projects that need to be done (don’t pick something you routinely do like put laundry away), identify the supplies you’ll need and set some time aside either daily, every other day or weekly.  But schedule it in.  That part is important.  It is because you haven’t made time for it in the past, that you haven’t gotten it done today.

Go – block off some time on your calendar right now.

I’ll wait!

Great!!!

Now – I invite you to share with everyone in the comments below or on my Facebook page.  What are you going to tackle?  I can’t wait to hear what’ s on everyone’s agendas.

Let’s do this!!!

Happy Tuesday!

100 to start – will you help me

Hi Everyone!

My friend Mindy loves alliteration.  Anytime we work on a project together she needs to name it and it always needs to have some sort of “flow”.

She was the inspiration to my themed weekday blogs – –  you know “Not-me Monday“, “Tips on Tuesdays” and so on…..

So I thought we’d go with a little alliteration for a challenge I’d like to propose for May.  But it didn’t quite work out – because all I could come up with was  “A Million in May“.

I’m asking you help in getting my eBook, Making Time for Dinner, launched.  I’d love to get some traction in the sales, but I can’t do it alone.

I’d love to say – help me sell a Million copies in May – – but that might be getting a little greedy.  So instead we’ll forget the alliteration for this challenge and go for

100 in May!

So – will you help me sell 100 copies of my eBook this month.  This is a really doable goal.  It is less than four a day.  We can do it – right?

Here are a few ways to help:

  • Buy a copy for yourself.
  • Buy a copy for your friend.
  • Buy a copy off of Amazon.com and post a review.
  • Buy a PDF version and send me your review to share on this blog.
  • Share this challenge with your friends and ask them buy a copy.
  • Ask your firends to ask their friends to buy a copy.

You can buy either a PDF version here or  you can follow this link to buy it for your Kindle.

Here’s what one reader said about the eBook:

As a new mom, I found this incredibly helpful.  Making Time for Dinner is chock full of good, practical ideas that I look forward to implementing.  From shopping and pre-planning to tidying up afterward, this will help your family make – and keep – great habits.”   ~Elsa

Thanks for the help and for the support!

Freedom Friday! Name my eBook

Hi Friends and Happy Friday!

I’m not really starting another themed day – although I do hope you like them.  But I would like to enlist your help today  – hey – let’s make it a contest.

A few months ago I completed my first eBook – it is a collection of time-saving tips to help make the daily dinner time rush less hectic and more doable.  I named this book “What’s for Dinner” – which I never really loved.  I have it listed on Amazon for Kindle  but I fear it isn’t getting any recognition because the title probably makes it seem more like a cookbook than a tip book.

So – will you help me name my eBook.

For a limited time you can view the book here –  – – –What’s for dinner

Please take a look at it, read through and send me your thoughts.  I’d love any comments but what I’m really looking for is a new title.

Let’s keep this contest running for one week.  Next Friday I will announce the new title.  The winner will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card!!!

I can’t wait to see what ideas you have.

Thanks for your help!
