In the first part of my “Too much in my inbox” series, I presented some general rules for your inbox. Today, I suggest a simple way to wade through all the remaining email that are still in your inbox.
Holding true to Rule 1. – Emails in the inbox are action items, this doesn’t mean that once you take action on an email, it will automatically be deleted. Nor is it possible to respond immediately to an email. Most likely you are waiting on more details before you can follow through with some topics.
When this happens, your inbox might still seem daunting with a massive amount of emails that are awaiting your attention. One great way to wade through the list is to start with the bottom and work your way to the top.
If you have your emails sorted by date received, with the most recent at the top, the bottom will have the oldest emails in your inbox. Most likely, you will have the needed information to act on these older emails and get them processed and either filed or deleted.
If you start from the bottom and work your way to the top – you’ll quickly see results.
Hope you are having a great day!
